At Kurrajong Vineyard we strive to make great tasting, authentic, and sustainable "KV" wines. We enjoy our wine with food so our focus is on wines and styles that are well-suited to modern cuisine, such as dry rosés, fresh whites and well-balanced reds. We have a small vineyard and winery and make only a very limited quantity, but because we grow grapes, make wine, bottle, label and pack it - all on our Vineyard, we believe our wines have and show authentic Hunter character.
Buying KV wines
Visit our online cellar door, come directly to our vineyard, or try and buy at selected restaurants and bottleshops in the Hunter Valley area. Our Pioneer Series wines (made from the best vintages) are only available to our wine club members, mailing list members, and a select few restaurants in the Hunter Valley.
The range of KV wines
Our main range of "KV" wines are classic Hunter Valley varieties that fully embody the Valley's unique terroir - Semillon, Verdelho, Chardonnay, Merlot and Shiraz. We make them in a contemporary style, fermenting cool, to deliver a fruit-forward rather than savoury wine. We specialise in Rosés, and for 2013 we have added a Cabernet Rosé to our popular Merlot Rosé. Both are dry, inspired by great rosés from Southern France. In the best vintages we make our limited Pioneer Series wines from our unique selection of Mediterranean grape varieties. Find out more on our KV Wines page.
The source of KV wines
Our wines are primarily from our own grapes, augmented with some grapes from neighbours. Our Belford semillon block was planted in the 1960s and our Pokolbin blocks were planted in 1990 and 2000. To meet our passion for blended wines we use the following varieties: Barbera, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Semillon, Shiraz, Tempranillo, and Verdelho. Find out more on our KV Vines page.
While Kurrajong Vineyard cottages and B&B suite were amongst the first on Hermitage Road, with mixed feelings we have closed our accommodation to concentrate on our vineyard and KV wines. Many heartfelt thanks to all those who stayed with us over the years and gave us some fond memories.
